Long-distance move from Pittsburg, OK to Newark, DE

Affordable Movers

They were speedy and did the job in half the time. Very well organized and knew how to pack the trailer efficiently. They were also conscious of wearing masks without pulling them down and maintained social distancing as much as possible. An excellent moving experience.

Long-distance move from West Virginia to Florida

DO NOT USE!!!!

Horrible! When we contacted Landmark Moving and Storage in FL to help move my disable grandfather from WV to FL. During the booking they made everything sound so good but problems started right away on the day of pick up. We were told that all our items would not fit and would cost an additional $700 on top of the $2,000 already paid. They did not disclose that they sub-contract out to other moving companies to pick up and deliver the belongings, nor did they disclose that it would take so many days. If we would have known this, we would have made other arrangements or packed differently, but instead had to go out and buy diabetic and medical supplies that were necessary until our belongings arrived. When attempting to contact the company, they would not answer the calls from the phone numbers they had on file, but would immediately answer if we called from a number that was not listed on the account. The website also states they have 24 hour customer service which was not the case for us. Once we finally got in touch with someone, they stated our belongings should be delivered within 3-5 business days which later turned into 7-10 business days. We asked several times to speak with a manager and still have not had a return call and its been at least 3 weeks. When our belongings were delivered, 2/3 of our end tables/bedside tables were damaged and one was not delivered at all. The plastic totes we packed our belongings in were so damaged they had to tape around the whole tote in order to hold it together. Other boxes were also damaged and 4 boxes that were delivered were not our original boxes but had our belongings thrown in them. Because of this, there was significant damage to our belongings- most being sentimental. I had to throw away at least one full garage bag of broken glass and other miscellaneous items. It's a shame that a 76 year old man, who has to give up his home because he is no longer able to care for himself, has now lost the few belongings he wanted to move here with. This has been a complete nightmare.

Long-distance move from Grasston, MN to Boston, MA

Highly recommended!!

We had everything already boxed up and clearly labeled so it was a breeze getting everything into the new apartment and organized. They even put back together our bed and helped with the sofa. Although they were running late to get to us, they kept in touch with us and compensated us with an extra mover for free! I would definitely recommend and use again.

Long-distance move from Calverton, NY to San Diego, CA

Poor company they brokered my move to an unlicensed & unisured mover

I contracted with Landmark as broker for my long distance move from NY to CA.

) they took my phone calls and deposit rc very quickly now have become unresponsive

2) they never contacted me to give me a move date. I was called 1 1/2 hours before pickup by the mover. I was not ready and was charged additional money for helping package , otherwise I was told it would be weeks before a new move could be scheduled.

3) my estimate mysteriously doubled by the mover despite being exactly what I was quoted.

4) my mover I found out is unlicensed due to DOT and FMCRA pulling their license

5) I have no idea where my belongings are and neither company will respond. I’m sure if they get to my destination they will extort more money from me

DONT USE THIS COMPANY. GO WITH A REPUTABLE MOVER.

Avoid at all cost - review BBB ratings

At the last minute, they informed me that "truck Broke down" I was told the next available pick up time was 7 days later. I had to be out of the house in 5 days. I cancelled and was promised a refund. They stopped answering my calls and emails, so i disputed the charges on Credit card. Their response was full of lies. The breached the contract and owe me over $1200.

I am confident with the details i have sent to Citibank , my dispute will be honored.

Just read the BBB review and make a good decision. I am sorry I did not read them first!

Did I mention you should avoid this company. The sales people will act like your best friends until they have you signed.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LANDMARK!

Landmark seemed like a solid company, and maybe they are if THEY are the one to do the work, but they hired an illegitimate company to handle my move. The company they hired increased the quoted cost of moving by $2000 from what Landmark's quote was, they attempted to steal the 2nd cashier's check I had to cut to cover the cost of the increased rate, they charged me a processing fee for the "returned" check that was "returned" because luckily Chase fraud protection caught it, they did not get my items to me in the quoted 7-10 days, they stored my items at an unknown (to me) location which makes you wonder how much of it was gone through, I have several items that are broken and were mishandled, and 1 item (that I'm aware of now) that's missing. I called the Landmark office to bring to their attention what happened, and it was obvious that they don't care.

Long-distance move from Hopewell Junction, NY to Longs, SC

My move from NY to SC

Where do I even begin...

Ok so we are a family of 4, myself, my husband, and my two special needs daughters. We were making the move from New York to the Carolina’s. Initially we had decided we would rent a truck and do the move ourselves, but the more we thought about it with myself being disabled and my husband having bad knee’s that maybe we would just inquire about hiring movers. Reading the reviews and the horror stories we were so skeptical until we came across the company we ultimately hired.

LAND MARK MOVING AND STORAGE.

Our first conversation was with a gentleman named Lee. We told him right from the start we are on a very tight budget because I am on social security disability and my husband is retired with a pension. He went through how it all works, so we thought. Were the first problem we encountered was he left out many pieces of furniture and inventory in order to get the price that we were happy with for us to sign with him that day. So even though it was still a lot of money for us to spend we thought it was still worth it that we wouldn’t have to do all of the physical labor as well as the drive which was 11 hours ahead of us.

Our next communication was 2 days before the schedule move. This was for a “detailed inventory “ and this is where things went left with this company! Figuring out that the initial gentlemen did not put down more than half of the inventory on the initial estimate and now two days before the pick up I have another gentlemen, CJ going through a detailed list, well needless to say it pretty much doubled in size and so did the price. It was a difference of $3000.!!! If he would’ve done a correct inventory from the start and gave us the correct estimate we would’ve never of went through with it simply because we just didn’t have that to spend on movers. But what are we to do two days before the move when I have people waiting for me in another state and people waiting to move into my home in New York?? We were stuck and they knew it and I assume this is how they make their money. Of course trying to get on the phone to somebody at that point was practically impossible. I had left several messages for Tom the owner but no one was bending over backwards to take a call or accommodate or help me with anything I needed Unfortunately that’s not it, there’s more and it gets even better.

When the actual movers came they were hours late which put our whole schedule off track and had us driving in the dark with two special needs children which was extremely difficult and stressful on them. We ended up having to stay in a hotel because of them being late which again was not in our budget or in the plan we were supposed to drive from one place to the other and they were supposed to be there very early the morning of the move and they didn’t come in till the afternoon. Then the cherry on the Sunday after it taking them 4+ hours to load the truck was, they did not bring a truck big enough! I had another $2900 worth of furniture left in New York, that was the second estimate they gave me to go back to pick it up. How do you do a detailed inventory two days before you’re coming and then don’t bring a truck big enough? Then to have the audacity to want to charge me another $2900? I tried to explain to them we already aren’t going to have our Christmas because of this but I do need to feed my family for the month of December and they laughed. It was also very concerning that I had to tell the movers over and over again to wear their mask during this terrible pandemic with Covid. I have three people in our family that are compromised with their immune system‘s, they simply didn’t care. They had all the cash they couldn’t wait to dump my stuff in South Carolina and be gone. Then to come across everything that they damaged, this experience was devastating. This is an extremely long review but I felt compelled to tell a detailed story of my experience with this company. Finding out much later that they’re a broker they’re not even the actual mover, (my bad) I should’ve looked into it more. We had never done this before. We just didn’t know and of course they didn’t offer that information to us. Well in closing of course I tried calling probably over 50 times before I finally got CJ to give me the final outcome which was “I’m so sorry they’re not going to accommodate you in anyway but they will go back and get my stuff left behind in New York for $2900. I’ve lost my grandmothers China a lot of my Swaroski crystal that was crushed even after it was packed extremely well with fragile all over it and handed off specifically to the lead guy telling him it was my most fragile box. Devastating! This experience has been traumatizing to my family and set us back financially for the next few months. We are in our new home now, we are safe, we are healthy, and today with everything going on in the world I’m just simply grateful for that.

Long-distance move from Sevierville, TN to New Bedford, MA

Pricing changes several times

They quoted me a price over the phone and sent quote by email. Price was $4,0.00.00 To $4,400.over the phone, $4,323.12 in written quote. While packing I got a call wanting to know how many boxes and what we were moving. I didn’t have that information Because we just started packing and said call back in a week. C.J. From customer service called back and I said 100 boxes & I walked through the house, basement and garage identified everything that had to be moved. I offered to FaceTime so he could see what was being moved he said no we don’t do it that way I know your price will be $5,000.00. I agreed and said I don’t want any surprises. When truck arrived lead man walked the house and said your move will cost $7759.00. It was noon, we had to be out of house by 9AM the next day because house was sold. They got me! They had three companies involved, Landmark, Guardian, and MAP. I am sure all three got a good some of money. Landmark sells, subs to Guardian, Guardian subs to MAP. MAP does the move but I paid Guardian. This is a scam! Never use them. Price went from $4323.12 to $5,000.00, to $7759.00.

House Move

They got my name and gave me a song and dance of how they had a delivery in my area and if I could get them back to their home base I could get a good price. Like others that good price quickly doubled and they contracted the move to a different company. My inquiries to the company have been unanswered. Chalk me up as a very dissatisfied customer who would recommend looking elsewhere!

Highly Recommended

I had the best service! The tracking facility is a brilliant device I could plan my day to the minute. My item was collected and delivered within the designated time frame allocated. My driver Alexander was very professional and helpful and very cheerful on blistering hot day! I’m not good with too much heat! Helped me carry the item up to the front door and was so cheerful. My first time using this service and I was not at all disappointed. I would definitely recommend
